2018-19 Education Funds Announced

The United Way of Gaston County has allocated more than $488,000 to seven programs that impact education in our community. These funds will ensure that young children are prepared to enter school, that elementary students are reading on grade level and students of all ages have opportunities to continue to learn. Funding was allocated to the following organizations and programs:

Alliance for Children and Youth, Communities In Schools program

Boy & Girls Club of Greater Gaston, After-school Enrichment program

Gaston Literacy Council, Adult Literacy and Financial Literacy programs

Girls Scouts: Piedmont to Peaks- Leadership program

Piedmont Council- Boys Scouts- Explorers Post program

Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club- Young Scholars, Future Leaders program
